I had a very successful Memorial Weekend Opening of my Guest House in the Hamptons with one mishap. A woman who came to my house in Southampton as a return guest claimed she couldn't get any sleep because people kept coming home from different parties till 3am on Saturday night. She left at dawn and not only skipped out on the guest fee but now says if I don't pay her $1,000 for ruining her weekend she is going to report me to the Southampton Police for running an "illegal share house." I told her to go ahead.

Since I'm legally running a nice luxury Guest House not an unruly Share House her claim is unfounded. I have good personal relationships with the Southampton Police Department, Local Neighbors and good contacts in Government from supporting Political Fundraisers, Charities and other Social Events over the last 10 years so I think my reputation can withstand one malcontent.

What I'd like to do is warn people about this professional extortionist. She admitted to having received a $3,000 settlement from a restaurant after claiming food poisoning. Therefore I've reported her to the authorities for planning and executing this type of extortion as a profession. How dare she believe she can perform extortion with impunity! My question is: If someone is having trouble holding on to a professional job and was successful at extorting money from a restaurant, is it acceptable for her to make money by creatively extorting money from other small business owners?
